Tammy Tongusi (left) of First National Bank of Hartford, pictured with WBA Senior Vice President and Counsel Rose Oswald Poels (right), has earned top honors for her financial education efforts. The Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) Personal Economics Program (PEP) recognized Tongusi at the WBA Consumer Education Conference on Sept. 10 with one of its four top individual awards, the PEP Banker Award. These honors are presented each year to the top Wisconsin bankers who give an outstanding number of financial education presentations in their communities.

From June 2008 to May 2009, Tongusi gave 63 presentations in the Hartford area, reaching 1,528 individuals.

“Educating children, teens and adults about personal finance not only benefits individuals, but our communities as a whole,” said Kurt Bauer, WBA president and CEO. “We commend Tammy for carrying out a long-standing industry commitment to improving financial literacy.”

In addition, First National Bank of Hartford received one of 57 State PEP Bank Awards.
