Rosalee F. “Ricki” Nichols (nee Adair), of Hartford, passed away quietly after a long illness at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Ricki was born July 29, 1938, in Hinsdale, Illinois to John and Beulah (nee Lane) Adair. She was united in marriage to the late Donald Kinney and the late Joe Wayne Nichols. Ricki loved animals and raised wolves and a cougar. She loved her rose gardens, enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and loved long rides in the country. Just over one year after her husband passed Ricki moved to Hartford and bought a beautiful Victorian home with her daughter Tracey. She especially enjoyed sitting on the porch with Tracey and having coffee. Ricki was a unique and beautiful woman and was loved by everyone who knew her and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by daughter Tracey Helms of Hartford; her sister Fern (Sheldon) Miller of California and her brother Charles Adair of Madison. Ricki is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands Donald and Joe.

A gathering will be Monday, November 2, 2009 from 10:00 – 11:00am at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street, Hartford. Interment at St. Bartholomew in Rubicon.
